O Holy Night Flash Mob

XMAS Flash Mob @ the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Believe it or not, Sassy used to sing in the church choir!  I was really good at picking up music and being able to sing it, and blending in with other voices.  I started as a soprano in high school, was slotted as second soprano in the Glee Club in college, and an alto in church choir as a grown-up.  I wonder… if I’d kept on singing – would I be a tenor or bass now?
I often got chosen for solos, even though I was an alto!  A lot of years, there was no choir on Christmas Eve because people had their family celebrations that night, or had to travel to visit family.  So the organist and choir director would look at me and pull out “O Holy Night.”  I’d don the blue choir robe and yellow stole, stand at the front near the grand piano, and belt out the tune with all my heart.
Christmas 2006 I knew I was leaving the church.  My life was headed in a different direction, toward another community project.  I had a disagreement with the minister, who asked me to choose between church and my community project, sure in her narrow views that I would choose the church.  So it was time to do other things.  I was pretty sure it would be my last Christmas Eve service there for a long time.  I stood looking out over the congregation I had cherished for years, the place where I got married, the safe place I had helped make for people of any sexual orientation, and wondered who would sing for them next year?  Then took a deep breath and sang about the night of Jesus’ birth, my prayer that God would watch over us all as we went out separate ways.

Oh Holy Night
Lyrics by Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure
 Music by Adolphe Charles Adams
Translated into English by John Sullivan Dwight
Oh holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night, oh night divine
[Fall down on your knees]
(other verses sometimes added)
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here come the wise men from Orient land
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our friend
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name
History
The lyrics of the old carol ‘O Holy Night’ were written in French by Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure in 1847. Cappeau was a wine seller by trade but was asked by the parish priest to write a poem for Christmas. He obliged and wrote the beautiful words of the hymn. He then realized that it should have music to accompany the words and he approached his friend Adolphe Charles Adams. He agreed and composed the tune we know.  Adolphe had attended the Paris conservatoire and forged a brilliant career as a composer. It was translated into English in 1855 by John Sullivan Dwight from Boston, trained as a Unitarian minister, transcendentalist, editor of “Dwight’s Journal of Music” and America’s first influential classical music critic.
Enjoy this fun version from Boston!

Meet #3 KFC in NH

Thursday, December 12, 2013

My second trip to the beach!

I didn’t work on Thursday – ran an errand downtown, got my nails done at a new place near home then set off to NH about 2:15 pm. The drive was easy except for the dumb slow down around Rte 60 on Rte 1.

I decided to adventure up Rte 1. I found a Walmart parking lot to stop and text him. I caught up on Facebook and email. He asked if I’d like to pick up food, suggested KFC (which was in the same parking lot!) I got food and drove to his house, pulling in just as he arrived!

We ate and talked at his kitchen table. I had two chicken littles, a KFC bowl, a churro and the new Cinnabon Delights. I bought the desserts thinking to share, but I couldn’t get him to try anything of mine. He had chicken tenders, wedges and coleslaw. I played with his knee.

We went into the bedroom about 5 pm. We talked and cuddled. We kissed. I played with his beard, told him how wonderful it felt between my legs. He said his wife hates it, which makes him keep it. I told him I shaved my underarms for him. He said to stop – he likes hair there, just not hairy legs.

He adores playing with my nipples. We had sex twice at the end of the bed, my heels on his shoulders, for about 3 minutes. I tried to ride him and he tried doggie style but could not get hard enough. I went down on him. He used his fingers on me.

Both his wife and his ex-GF called while I was there. It’s interesting to hear the difference in his voice when he talks to them. With his wife he’s all curt, “What?” and the ex-GF gets sweet voiced “Oh, hello. How’s it going?” He admitted that he still sees his ex-GF – she’s involved in his medical care! He told me stories about having to leave home after he had his final shoving match with his father. He told me about his children’s misadventures.

I got up to pee and left the door open… he joked about how he could hear me and it was turning him on (riffing off the Mr. Scat story I told him). Ha ha… but he did seem impressed at how I am not prissy about shutting the door.

He had an awful ear ache and seemed feverish to me. He was worried about getting me sick.

He said he was going to be busy with holiday staff the next couple of weeks. I told him to let me know when that changed. I had a moment of “uh oh.. this is not good” but it seemed like exactly what it was.

I dragged myself out of there at 11 pm and headed home. This drive was very easy. There were a few moments when I thought I was going to have to deal with Hubby’s gf at our place, but she left before I got there. I picked up Kelly’s Roast Beef in Everett at midnite. Sex makes me so hungry!

He texted me before I got home! He thanked me for cumming. Heh.

Holiday Cookie Exchange – BALLS!

Toffee Cookie Balls
Dear Readers,

Wow do I have a treat for you today!

It’s time for a party!  A cookie party!  Yum.  A bunch of sexy bloggers are kicking off the holiday season in style with a cookie exchange!  Jz from A Reluctant Bitch encouraged us to post our favorite holiday cookie recipe today.  Bless her heart and many thanks for pulling this together! So you can see cookies and other holiday treats all over this sexy corner of the blogosphere!  And drool over something other than my cleavage today!

I adore cookies!  Cookie Monster is my favorite Sesame Street puppet.  Om nom nom.  I am not much of a baker, but I used to help my mom make hundreds of cookies for church events – from lebkuchen (that had to be started a month ahead of time), to sugar cookies, currant bars, icebox cookies, shortbreads, thumbprints with raspberry jam, molasses cookies, spritz, ginger bread men, and something she called “snowballs.”  See my cookie post from 2012 about those!  Ever since I’ve been hooked on eating balls of all kinds!  Last year, I shared Noreen’s easy recipe for Oreo Cookie Balls.  There was even a video to make prep extra easy!

I know how to use the internet, so I searched for “holiday balls cookies” and up came this amazing recipe for toffee cookie balls from Snackworks!  With only four ingredients!  And three steps!  And NO BAKING!  I could do that!  More balls made of cookies! With chocolate and toffee!  You can lick them, roll them around in your mouth and bite them ever so gently! Yum!

Here’s the easy recipe.
from http://www.snackworks.com/recipe/toffee-cookie-balls-129512.aspx

Ingredients
• 4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) brick cream cheese, softened
• 16 CHIPS AHOY! made with HEATH English Toffee, finely crushed (about 2 cups)
• 1/4 cup chopped chocolate-covered toffee bar [like Heath or Skor], divided
• 3 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
Instructions
• MIX cream cheese, cookie crumbs and 2 Tbsp chopped toffee bar until well blended.
• SHAPE into 30 (1-inch) balls; place in single layer in shallow pan. Freeze 10 min. Dip in chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan. Lightly press remaining chopped toffee bar into tops of balls.

• REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.
The link also includes tips to make prep easier and nutrition info.
Serve and enjoy!

Happy Holidays Dear Readers!  Extra hugs with groping!

-Sassy
