WEEK 9
Thursday, October 13

7:40am Phil
Sounds like fun. A new rainy day starting.  Got done at 8:30 last night. I was flat worn out. Feeling refreshed and ready to go today. Have a great day!
8:24am
Good morning!  Pouring, 60.  Good thing I got a sunny smile from you! makes my day!  Waiting for house cleaner, chatting w/ sis on Yahoo IM.  But it’ll be fine.  Oop – they’re here.  Have a super day!

5:09pm
Good thing I have Evelyn’s Drive-in on a quiet lake to think about when work gets nutty.  My boss got misquoted in the newspaper – it said he’s resigning (he’s not). He blew a gasket, so I called in staff from home to help him get a retraction, and change the web and keep him from having a coronary… earned my money!  Did you get a new secretary?  Wish I could do it… I am a kick-ass assistant!  Off to drinks w/co-workers for some bonding. Have a great evening!

6:46pm
Had a great time with co-workers.  Nine of us!  and a very special dessert.  It tasted almost as sweet as you do!  ðŸ˜‰

Blog Chain Fun: Hot sex with the spouse

Hello Readers!

It’s time for a brief break from the Philip & Sassy Long Distance Romance for the fifth round of Prowling With Kat‘s Blog Chain, a delicious monthly exercise in posting on the same topic with a bunch of sexy bloggers.

For October we were asked to post about “Hot sex with the spouse.”

This topic is tough for me.  I adore other people’s husbands but sadly, I am not allowed to touch my own.  My husband has not touched me since October 1999.  Or let me touch him.  He is on certain medicines that are the likely cause.

We did write fabulous erotica for each other while we were courting, and made love before and after we were married, but I honestly don’t remember what it was like except that he did stuff to me and he got off.  At that point, I thought that’s what sex was!

I do keep trying to interest him… especially as Philip taught me what sex is really about!  But nothing works and the rejection gets tougher and tougher to take.  I muse on what it would be like if he suddenly decided he wanted me again…. but it makes me sad to fantasize about the man who sleeps next to me every night but is so far away.  Still, I dream of him turning to me, touching me, kissing me and letting me show him all I’ve learned and how much I love him.  Who knows?  Stranger things have happened.  Bleh – this isn’t fun!  So I will send you along to the other chain posts!

Please go read about the sexy six smoking hot entries of this month’s Blog Chain!  Marvel at bloggers taking off in different directions from the same starting point!  Leave comments!   Find new blogs to read!  Enjoy!

Marblehead Meal

October 10, 2011 Columbus Day (continued)
We went into Marblehead – the colonial homes and shops are lovely.  No one was around.  It was as if they’d rolled up the sidewalk at 5 pm.  We ended up at The Landing Restaurant, right on the water.  It has a fun pub, an elegant dining room with windows on three sides, and a deck.  We sat in the dining room right next to the deck.

We shared an incredible meal gazing out over the harbor at sunset!

special clam/corn chowder

scallops wrapped in bacon with maple dipping sauce

 peking ravioli with ginger slaw

 a caesar salad

My Baked Stuffed Shrimp Mediterranean (stuffed with a spinach, feta and pignoli-nut filling, wrapped in bacon, in a pool of red pepper coulis with sweet potato gnocchi and steamed asparagus)

Hubby’s Asian red snapper encrusted with sesame seeds on top of pad thai

choco-tini: dark chocolate mousse and iced brownie slices

We made it home in less than an hour by 9 pm.  There was so little traffic I wondered if life had been called off and no one told us?  It is so odd to come down Rte 1 in Lynn and be the only car on either side of the road!

Six beaches

Monday, October 10
9:00am
Happy Columbus Day!

From my public journal

Another beautiful day that beckoned me to the beach!   I didn’t want to drive very far, so I did some targeted research with Google maps, scouring the shore line for a restaurant and a beach-filled drive to get there.
We took off about 3 pm and headed north to Revere.   We saw six beaches:
1) Revere – The tide was out and you could see beach for miles!

2) Nahant – I made a little detour over the causeway to Nahant Beach.  Several people there.

3 &4) Then it was up Rte 1a through Lynn and Swampscott, and on into

5) Marblehead to Devereaux Beach

Lady’s Cove, Marblehead

6) Chandler Hovey Park with its ancient lighthouse and rocky shore and panoramic view of the harbor and Salem Sound and the ocean.  It was so clear, I felt like I could see Portugal!

Hey kid.  How was the chili?  So great to see you and your pal smiling and doing shots again!  Sorry about the game…

11:21pm
Glad you have friends there, but I wish I was there to console you in my special way.

12:41am
Remind me not to drink chai in the evening… I am wide awake and it’s after midnight!  Whee!  Good thing I have tomorrow off.
Sleep well, sweet man.
