Homeless Heart

Hiya, kid,
Heard this song?  Been stuck in my head all day – nice tempo, piano and amazing voice.  Words… sweet words I might understand if I ever give up the fight to keep from loving you again. Wonder if I could tell you this time around?  Would you smile or frown?
Ah, the trouble I get into after midnite!  ðŸ˜‰  Forgive the philosophical drivel.

Homeless Heart
Sung by Amanda Stott
Songwriters: Carlsson, Andreas; Sommerdahl, Harry; Child, Desmond

Lonesome stranger with a crowd around you, I see who you are
You joke, they laugh til the show is over, then you fall so hard
If you’re needing a soul-to-soul connection I’ll run to your side
When you’re lost in the dark, when you’re out in the cold
When you’re looking for something that resembles your soul
When the wind blows your house of cards
I’ll be a home to your homeless heart
Open, close me. Leave your secrets with me. I can ease your pain
And my arms will be just like walls around you – come in from the rain
If you’re running in the wrong direction, I will lead you back
When you’re lost in the dark, when you’re out in the cold
When you’re looking for something that resembles your soul
When the wind blows your house of cards
I’ll be a home to your homeless heart
Broken, shattered like a mirror in a million pieces
Sooner or later you’ve got to find
something, someone to find you and save you
When you’re lost in the dark, when you’re out in the cold
When you’re looking for something that resembles your soul
When the wind blows your house of cards
I’ll be a home to your homeless heart
When you’re looking for something that resembles your soul
When the wind blows your house of cards
I’ll be a home to your homeless heart
I’ll be a home to your homeless heart

Good morning! Happy December! Hope we both survive all the craziness! Much warmer, 48, going to mid 50′. Gotta love a forecast with “steady, soaking rain” and “Wind gusts over 50 mph.” Not! There’s news in the lot – catering trucks! The holiday party season has started. Have a good day, Philip.
December 1 at 8:25am
Work still busy for you? Leisurely morning for me… extra hour at home because I’m off to MGH at 10 am for more mammograms. Blech. Good that they’re double-checking everything, but still an ordeal. Then back to work. Luckily, I can walk out the door of the hospital, and cross the street to the entrance of Red Line! Hope I don’t get soaked.
Phil December 1 at 8:32am
That sounds like no fun! It’s raining sideways here. Still busy. I am trying to close things out and there are a lot of little things I want to finish up. I hate to leave anything hanging. Stay dry!

December 1 at 11:02am
Made it to MGH before the rain started. In the hurry up and wait zone…maybe if I start a msg, they’ll come for me? When I rule the world, if they say 10 am, that is when it will happen, not an hr later. And there will be gowns big enough for me… and magazines more current than July! Heh… a joke for you – What’s brown and sticky? A stick! (not sure I get it but I laughed anyway) Finally going in. Rah.
December 1 at 2:50pm
I hope you’re getting things tied up and feeling good about it.
So sorry to whine at you earlier. I got a little nuts after sitting there for an hour. Finally got out of there at 12:30 pm. And the subway was fabulous – made it to the office easily!
December 1 at 4:45pm
Any fun plans for tonight? I’m off to another night of meetings! Have a nice evening, Philip.
December 1 at 9:40pm
Hope you had a relaxing evening.
What a night! Despite weather that wasn’t fit for man nor beast (the soaking rain/wind thing), everyone arrived!

December 2 at 8:32am

Good morning! I hope your skies have cleared and it’s a great morning. Clear here…38 and headed to 45. Fine for December! Not much going on in the lot.. boring cars. Heh. Enjoy your day!
Phil December 2 at 9:17am
Cold this morning. I’m headed to the gym for an hour on the eliptical. Meeting my son for an extended lunch at a British Pub that I Like. Beers with the boys tomorrow afternoon on the way to the beach. Have a great day!

December 2 at 10:25am
Hope you’re enjoying a good sweat! Looking at green grass out my window… in December. Strange and wonderful.
December 2 at 2:20pm
How was your son? What did you eat? I just met my new doctor, very cool woman.
December 2 at 4:45pm
Headed home… you around tonight? Look for me on FB? could use some distraction if you aren’t swamped. Fun only! 🙂
December 2 at 6:36pm
Ended up going to another meeting.
December 2 at 10:15pm
You doing okay? Finally made it home, got talked into going out to Margarita’s again. Enchiladas!

Phil December 2 at 10:23pm
Hey! I’m fine. Just working. Wearing myself out

December 2 at 10:24pm
Cool. Sorry to interrupt work.
December 2 at 10:39pm
No, that’s not exactly true. I would love to interrupt your work! Give you a back-rub, bring you another drink, cuddle up next to you… and then… But I won’t. I will be good. 🙂
December 3 at 1:38pm
Hiya, Kid. How goes? Hope you are having a good day. I just got back from an Indian buffet lunch. Amazing chicken tikka masala and shrimp do piazza! A friend from church recently retired and doesn’t know what to do with himself. He wanted to pick my brain.  Fun to see him and help out.
December 3 at 2:25pm
I’m off work @ 3:15 pm! Getting hair dyed. If you’re driving and want to hear my melodious voice, I’ll be twiddling my thumbs from 3:45 – 4:45 while the gray disappears. Then home after that.
Phil December 3 at 2:32pm
Meeting the boys for a beer at 3 and then heading out. I’ll give you a call when I head that way. You have gray hair?

December 3 at 3:14pm
Beer, boys and Sassy! Woot! Yup – gray since 1980. Not giving in to it! Dye! Dye!
Crap. Now you know my deepest, darkest secret! 😉
[Philip called me and talked for a long time.  I could hear his stories forever!]

December 4 at 12:12am
So great hearing your voice and your laugh tonight. You sure can tell a funny story! And then another one. It makes me smile a lot.
I read an email with a quote (unattributed) at the bottom: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” Not quite sure what it means – I am not that deep. but it resonated with me and said “Send me to Philip.” I think you dance in the rain a lot, if they mean making the best of life despite what’s happening. I hope I can do that.
Hope you have some good moments this weekend. And if not much, look forward to hearing me laugh on Sunday!
Sleep well, sweet man.
December 4 at 2:21pm
Hey.. kid! Happy Saturday! Sunny and cold – only 39 for a high. Brrr. What’s your fun tasks for today? How can it be 2:15 already? On my dad’s computer in Arlington. Cleaning out a month of emails. 135 msgs – 3 actual messages for them. Ick. I tired to keep dad awake with tales of my meetings, but he nodded off pretty quickly. *sigh*
Busy morning, talked to the house cleaner for an hour! He’s coming back Thursday to clean top to bottom. Hooray! And maybe monthly… we’ll see how much cash I get for Christmas! Have a great day!
December 5 at 10:05pm
Hey, kid. Hope you had a good weekend! Wicked cold and windy here, never got out of the 30s. Nice lunch out – eggs with hollandaise on a potato pancake! and a side of bacon. Heh. Happy Hanukkah to me. Quiet night. Hubby went to a Doctor Who marathon at the local art theater.
December 6 at 5:36am
Good morning! Hope your day is off to a good start. Still under the covers in bed, wishing you were here. Have a great day!
December 6 at 10:00am
Good morning! Wicked cold here… only 29. And windy. Double brr… I hope your day is going well. I will be thinking of you.
December 6 at 12:46pm
Almost lunch time… payroll done! Prepping for big meeting tonight.  Always a good time. Whee!

Yikes. Sorry.
December 6 at 10:36pm
Hey kid! You okay? Home – great fun! Wondering how your day went.. and where you are. Hope it’s all good.

December 7 at 8:35am
Good morning! Hope your day is off to a good start. Very clear and cold here… 29 and not rising. Quiet day in the lot. No trucks. No birds. Hope it’s an omen for a quiet day. Have a great one, Philip!
[Philip called me when he was driving out of D.C. for the final time.  He was so elated!]

December 7 at 6:39pm
Hey, kid! So great to talk with you. Congrats on being done in D.C.! You sounded like a 500 lb weight had been lifted off your shoulders! On to bigger and better things!
Phil December 7 at 10:28pm
I can’t describe how good it feels. Focused on the next job now. This one in the rear view mirror!

December 7 at 10:33pm
Hooray!  You are reading my mind… it freaks me out. In a good way. I was just sitting here at my desk, thinking of you and up pops a message. Cool.

Good morning! I hope your week is off to a great start. And you have a productive day. Bright and clear here again, a little warmer (mid-40s).
November 29 at 11:31am
Busy morning here – finished the payroll early.
Phil November 29 at 1:13pm
It was 27 this morning. Yuck. Finishing up my old job. Yippee!

November 29 at 1:24pm
Two quick questions:
1) If you were to walk into a room, and see a plate of crackers and cheese, what are your favorites?
2) T-shirt size
November 29 at 4:25pm
Crazy afternoon… working but still had a moment to think of lobster… and you. Yum.
November 29 at 4:58pm
I am sitting here, working in the midst of staff and visitors, minding my own business and suddenly my mind carries me back to October and you and wow… quite a reaction. Am I the only one this happens to?! I hope we have time to pop in here in December…headed off to work on my project.  Big meeting tonight.  Have a great evening, Philip.
Phil November 29 at 5:17pm
Have fun. Working a little late but about to head out. Only a few days left in this miserable job. Can’t wait to go anyplace else. Gonna have some scotch and watch a little football tonight. Have a great evening.  Next few weeks are crazy
[he described all the plans for the next month].
November 29 at 6:29pm
Wow! You are piling on the miles. Thanks for telling me all that… I like knowing where you are.

I have a wacky idea, don’t want to complicate things, but if it would make your life easier, I could go with you on parts of that long drive…switch off driving, tell you stories. Done it before from here to there. If the idea appeals, tell me specific dates and I’ll check my schedule. I can stay out of site when necessary, get myself home at any point… if not, no worries, just trying to think of ways to help you.
November 29 at 10:16pm
Home again. Went really well!  Hope you’re having good football.
November 30 at 12:19am
why do dogs like trees?
they’re attracted to the bark…
November 30 at 12:52am
Did you pack up the yearbook already? Would love to see it… bring it? Or photocopy? If it’s easy to do…
November 30 at 2:17am
Not sure why I am still awake… looking at Jet Blue, cheap flights home from various cities if I help you drive. there’s probably a simple reason it doesn’t make sense for me to ride with you, but damn if doesn’t look easy and fun and cheap if I buy tickets soon… I know… I know… I’m nuts. Offering too much. Feel free to pat me on the head and tell me to stop. Or say yes…
Phil November 30 at 8:22am
I would love the company. Not sure how it would work though. Drive all day, while listening to the football games. I would be lousy company yelling at the radio. What happens at the other end?  I’m not about to start a scandal by being seen with another women. I need to prep for the new duties. Will have a notepad on the seat and jot down things that come to mind. Mission first, People always was the last one. We adhered to that.
If I was taking a day or two to drive, might have been fun but that’s my last chance to visit my family for some time, meetings on Monday. Gonna be a whirlwind week or so.  My brain is going to be mush.
November 30 at 8:49am
Good morning! I hope your day is off to a good start. Warmer here now, 41 degrees. But staying there all day. High clouds, breeze blowing the flag straight out. Usual mix of cars and huge electric repair trucks. Have a great day!
November 30 at 12:14pm
Busy morning here – we have staff meeting once a week, so everyone is around before it, wanting something. We have visitors coming in from overseas this afternoon. People from all over the world come to us!
November 30 at 4:31pm
Hiya, kid. Hope you had a good day. Thanks for giving me enough specifics to explore this wacky idea. My theory is you leave me at a hotel near an airport. Will that work for you? It can be fun!
I could drive your car while you work or swear. 🙂 I know your brain is busy. I can give you an entire day you wouldn’t have otherwise. I can listen to you prep.  That sounds wicked cool.  My humble request is that you make a little time to be alone with me…um… in a room with a bed. You could either:
1) tell your family you’re getting a head start on the drive and find me after dinner Saturday, if you can pull that off, or
2) pick me up early Sunday, and take some time at the hotel on the other end.
Or some other theory.  If you want to do both, that’s also fine. 🙂
If this all sounds good, I’ll take care of the rest.
November 30 at 4:37pm
Another idea… come to Boston Friday night. Make that our lobster night. Tell your family the conference is going to fry your brain so you can’t make it over there until Saturday. Take me with you on Saturday and drop me at a hotel. Pick me up Sunday morning…Just tossing things out, looking for the right answer…
November 30 at 4:57pm
Heading out to another night of meetings. Have a nice evening, Philip!
November 30 at 6:39pm
All set up… just waiting on the others to arrive! Peeps telling stories of past disasters. Heh. You watching Rudolph?
November 30 at 8:06pm
First part is done… Wow!
November 30 at 10:44pm
Home again. Juiced up again… don’t know how this project will turn out but it’s fun!  I hope you had a relaxing evening. Sleep well, sweet man.

Good morning! It’s gray here, not raining right now but has been and will again. 43 and not going much higher. The mall lot is oddly empty… guess the shoppers went out to be big box stores and the truckers aren’t working today. Hope it’s a great day for you.
November 26 at 11:36pm
Hey, kid. Good day? Did you win the attic wars? I so wish I could help you. I learned lots helping my folks – clearing out yrs of stuff when they left our home town, then more from the next place! Heh. I did mundane things today – not fun but good when they’re over – paid bills, refilled prescriptions, cleaned my desk, laundry, grocery shopping… boring! But necessary. Sleep well, sweet man.

Phil November 27 at 4:26am
Worked at wrapping the plants. Attics are today. Need to make a huge dent today. Time running out. It’s exciting and depressing at the same time.

November 27 at 7:33am
Good morning! Happy attic day! I hope it goes along really well. Put on some kickin’ music and sing!
Cold here… 36. And cloudy. They’re promising clear, 40’s… the lot is very quiet. Only 17 cars and 2 moving trucks. The flag is flitting back and forth gently… and one gull soars.
November 27 at 8:25am
My “fun” for today? Trip to Walmart. You know how I love shopping. NOT. We have to drive a ways, so we only go about every 3 months and stock up. I have a spreadsheet and coupons and bags… another “good when it’s done” task.
Phil November 27 at 8:28am
I have the music blasting! My part in attics is dragging stuff out, then it’s Sally’s part. I plan to clean my garage out and play some darts tonight as my reward. That means tunes, cold beers, trash talk, lovely evening. Have a great day. It’s in the 60s again here. Sunny and nice. Wore shorts all day yesterday.

November 27 at 9:12am
60’s? Shorts? You suck! We won’t see that ’til April. Arrgh.
You haven’t mentioned darts before… is that at home or out? Are you any good at it? Or is that not the point? Great that you have a reward at the end of a busy day!
I’m sending you “productive-ons!” Heck, I’ll even send some to Sally. Let me know if that works on her. 🙂
November 27 at 11:38am
Just saw a bumper sticker: I don’t brake for Yankees fans.
November 27 at 1:33pm
Saw something funny last night… a “cherpumple” cake. It’s 3-layer cake, with a cherry pie, pumpkin pie and apple pie as the layers, then cream cheese frosting all around. Sort of the turducken of the dessert world. Bizarre!
November 27 at 1:46pm
Survived Walmart! Easy trip – no traffic, no crowd, several items we wanted were on sale. Hooray! That should hold us until Valentine’s Day. Hope you’re making big progress!
November 27 at 3:03pm
My sister volunteered to do most of my Christmas shopping! That may be the best gift I get!
November 27 at 5:14pm
Talked to my college room mate. Don’t hear from her much… Good to catch up.
November 27 at 10:51pm
Hey, kid. Hope you had a good day, and fun with darts! I had a quiet time after Walmart. Hubby went to help friends on a project. I heard from two college friends, and got stuff done around the house. Wish I had your help schlepping my boxes! Not that I’d waste your energy on that if you were here. 😉 Heh. Sleep well, sweet man.

Good morning! I hope you are off to a good start on this Sunday. Another very quiet morning – so dark, and not a single car in the lot! It’s cold – only 29. Might get to 40, and sunny. Have a great day!
November 28 at 5:37am
What are you up to this fine Sunday? Church? Can’t decide what I’ll do today. Might work here, or go see my friends.
November 28 at 5:39am
I’m meeting a college friend and her family from CA in the North End for dinner. Wonderful Italian neighborhood, like stepping into Europe. Eating at La Famiglia Giorgio for Roman style food.
November 28 at 2:09pm
Happy football! I made it out to see friends, had yummy coconut shrimp and onion soup at the 99. Now with my folks, making the rounds of all the seniors today!
November 28 at 8:36pm
Home, full of chicken and eggplant parm and pasta! Headed back to D.C.? Call @ half time? or anytime… Need to ask about cheese. 🙂
November 28 at 11:52pm
Big ISP outage down the East Coast due to DNS problems (no, I don’t know what that really means) that took 3 hours to figure it out, used smartphone and tips from FB. Finally back online! Thank goodness for my new phone.
Interesting dinner out… nothing like trying to catch up with a college friend while her two little kids poke each other and talk non-stop. Eep. And they paid! Amazing Italian food… seafood but no lobster! Fun to be in the North End again. Our Little Italy.

Good morning! I hope your day is off to a great start. It is a bright, clear sunny day, but wicked cold and WINDY. They mentioned “wind chill” on the radio for the first time this season – feels like 16 degrees out. Eeep. The leaves are swirling and dancing in the streets. At least it’s not precipitating on all the travelers!

Phil November 24 at 10:54am
Getting ready to bail out of here to forge through all the traffic. Promises to be a miserable drive. I’m well rested and it’s a gorgeous day though so not so bad. Can’t wait to start cooking. Have a great day!

November 24 at 11:19am
We’re closing the office at 12:30 pm. Hooray! Call me if you want someone to help make the trip go faster. 🙂
November 24 at 11:24am
It’s wicked quiet here. No student workers to entertain us. They’ve scattered to the four winds, literally.
November 24 at 2:25pm
Hoping your drive isn’t too bad. I am so thankful we don’t have to drive anywhere today! I had yummy Chinese leftovers for lunch – spicy Yu Shiang eggplant with chicken!

[Philip called me about 4:30 pm and we talked for an hour while he drove to the beach]

Good morning! I hope this is a good Monday for you. Doesn’t feel like morning – still dark…but warmer. Already 40, going into the 50s! And calm. Can’t even see the flag.  Have a great day!
November 22 at 6:57am
What’s on your dance card for today? Schlepping back to D.C.? Or hanging at the beach?
Busy day for me. Work first -But no payroll, thank goodness! (Did it last week due to the holidays). A favorite ex-co-worker is visiting!
November 22 at 6:59am
At noon, Hubby drives me to Mass General Hospital to meet a friend who works there and my sister’s best friend, a medical researcher. They will go with me to the Gillette Center for Women’s Cancers on the 9th floor to meet the three doctors at 1 pm – a surgeon, a radiation oncologist and the medical oncologist. And hear what they recommend! That’s supposed to be about 3 pm. Whee!
Great to start dealing. I’m only a little frightened, partly because I don’t know enough yet, but mostly because I don’t get all worked up about such things. It’s obvious from much of the material that they’re used to coping with really frantic women, but I’m not one. One step at a time…
Phil November 22 at 7:08am
Good luck. Hope its all good news, early, treatable etc. Hope it’s a decent day any way.

November 22 at 7:14am
Hope to be home by 5 pm. Some time after that I’d like to suck your cock until you explode and have you fuck me until I forget my name. Hey, a girl can dream, right? 🙂
November 22 at 7:17am
Thanks for the good wishes! Please don’t worry about me. You have enough on your plate already. I have a great family, good friends and co-workers, and the best hospital in the world! And a very special old friend…

Lol! I love it! Hope it goes well. I’ll certainly say a prayer.

Phil November 22 at 6:15pm
Hope it went ok
November 22 at 9:31pm
Hiya! Thanks for asking. It means a lot. Sorry it took me so long to reply.. many family and friends tugging at me for news.
The upshot – I will come out of it whole and cancer free. But it will take awhile.
Phil November 22 at 9:59pm
That’s wonderful news! So glad to hear that!

November 22 at 10:08pm
It was a good day. I stayed calm. I thought about lobster and you, kept me from getting overwhelmed with the medical stuff. The cancer center people are super-nice. Almost can’t believe they’re medical people – they have social skills! Pleasant, friendly, caring… all women except for one doc. They are on the leading edge of care and doing lots of studies to come up with new stuff.
We saw 10 people in 3.5 hrs:
Clerk who checked me in
Assistant who took my vitals – all good!
Arm scan study tech – participating in a study to fight lymphodema
Three doctors – surgeon, chemo, radiation
EKG tech, two nurses, blood draw person
Summary of my treatment:
Good news: Lumpectomy! Day surgery in December
Meet with chemo doc 10 days later to plan next steps
Likely timeline after that:
The bad news – Chemo (once every two weeks for 6 months)
4-6 week break
Radiation (15 minutes, every week day for 6 weeks)
not a huge deal – fatigue and sunburn last two weeks
Done in early August!
They say I can work the entire time except 7-10 days after surgery, and one day every two weeks when I have to go in for the chemo.
I am clinging to the final outcome, and then “one day at a time” thing, trying not to get ahead of myself. I prayed to avoid chemo, but it looks like I won’t. *sigh*
If you have any questions, let me know. I can talk about any of it, but figure you have other worries and important work. I never want to burden you, just try to share lobster, laughs and fun. and life-affirming sex! 🙂 And even help you as a sounding board. When you have time and inclination.
Phil November 22 at 10:11pm
I will think of you and pray for you until you are well again. I have faith, you will be fine!
November 22 at 10:56pm
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. That is a great comfort. and the chance for a semi-“cancer free” zone with you. So let’s move on to lobster! And chowder!

Good morning! Tuesday time again. I hope it’s a good one for you. So dark outside. Must’ve rained overnight – everything is wet and the air is humid. It’s warmer – 53 now and headed to 60! So weird for November. We often have snow by now. Have a wonderful day!
Phil November 23 at 8:57am
Having a great day! Morning pt so the blood is pumping, hope to get a lot done!

November 23 at 3:42pm
Hope you’re being productive! Anything fun to do in these last few days or just tedious stuff?
November 23 at 10:44pm
Hey, kid. Hope you had a good evening. Great NCIS! Ziva is so amazing. And the make-up in the flashbacks was incredible. I’m feeling shaky, but hanging on to the edge. Hope to be better tomorrow. Sleep well, sweet man.

Big hug

Good morning! I hope your Saturday is a fine one. Pretty sky today… high patches of pastel clouds like someone from 19th Century France painted them, cold – 37 degrees but might get into the mid-50’s, brisk winds (up to 40 mph!) whipping Old Glory, gaggles of gulls sailing on the gusts… have a special day, Philip.
November 20 at 7:02am
Big plans for today? I’m headed out to take my Mom to the church fair at my sister’s church.

[Philip called me and talked more about his new post]
November 20 at 7:58am
So great to talk to you!
Wading through the figure skating results. The big action is in Moscow this weekend, called “Cup of Russia,” 5th stop of the 6-weekend Grand Prix series. The Americans aren’t doing very well… but a Canadian man, Patrick Chan, is causing a buzz. He landed a quad-triple combo jump in his short program that has the press tripping over themselves. This is the first year they’ve allowed quad jumps in the short program, so they stick out right now.

November 20 at 11:38am
Survived the church sale. What a mad house! Got a tote bag for fifty cents. Taking my dad out for Chinese lunch. Hope your day is going well.
Phil November 20 at 1:58pm
Sounds like an interesting day! Have fun.
November 20 at 10:51pm
Hope you had a nice day.
Had a great lunch with mom and dad. He moving well with his walker, and smiled. But completely quiet. Still good, for someone the doctors have given up on. Food was barely tolerable, so I didn’t eat much, which is fine.
Quiet evening. Did some more de-cluttering. Hubby was sick and asleep most of the time. Looked at more lobster restaurant menus. Yum. Sleep well, sweet man.

10:29 PM Phil: allergic to some, some not.  Generally ok as long as I don’t touch them
I like cats, just make my eyes swell up some times

hmmm… was thinking about you perhaps staying here when you visit.  But the cat thing may be a problem.

Phil: not sure how much time I will have.  Can come up one night.  We’ll figure it out.

11:05 PM Phil: I don’t think so. he gonna be ok with that?

It depends on where his head is that day…but he said he’s cool with it.

11:08 PM And he volunteered to go stay at a friend’s house if you want to be here

Phil: will see. Have to be back and alert in the morning.  This is critical

Sure.  Not meaning stay here overnight, just meaning um…
make use of my king sized bed…
if there’s time

Phil: don’t remember what the drive is from one place to the other.  At least an hour I think

11:10 PM Phil: not too bad

If you’d rather not drive it, I could come get you…
Phil: Don’t mind the drive.  Will see when I get there

make it as easy as possible.

Phil: I am pooped. Need to get to bed.  Have to be fresh in the am

11:51 PM Phil: think thats a song

11:52 PM Yeah?  I think it’s “if loving you is wrong, i don’t wanna be right…”
but maybe there’s another one?

Phil: thats the one

11:53 PM who sang it? Luther Ingrahm…
11:55 PM or Barbara Mandrell

If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right
If being right means being without you
I’d rather live a wrong doing life
Your mama and daddy say it’s a shame
It’s a downright disgrace
Long as I got you by my side
I don’t care what your people say

Your friends tell you there’s no future
in loving a married man
If I can’t see you when I want to
I’ll see you when I can
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right

Am I wrong to fall so deeply in love with you
knowing I got a wife and two little children
depending on me too
And am I wrong to hunger
for the gentleness of your touch
knowing I got somebody else at home
who needs me just as much

And are you wrong to fall in love
with a married man
And am I wrong trying to hold on
to the best thing I ever had
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right

Are you wrong to give your love
to a married man
And am I wrong trying to hold on
to the best thing I ever had
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right
If loving you is wrong I don’t wanna be right

I don’t wanna be right
if it means sleeping alone at night
I don’t wanna be right
if it means coming home at night
I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna
I don’t wanna never, never, never be right

Delayed. For 5 hours at the airport. Yippee. Got up at 3:30 for this privilege. Have a great day!

November 15 at 8:26am
Good morning! Gray morning here. High clouds, 50 degrees and staying there. Lots of the big electrical repair trucks today in the lot. The gulls are diving again….
November 15 at 8:27am
Sorry to hear about your delay. Yuck! May this will be “the bad part” so the rest of your trip is wonderful. My friends talk of “having a frog for breakfast.” It’s gross but it makes the rest of your day look a lot better!
Can you get stuff done while you wait? If you need entertainment or distraction, I am here for you. Call or find me online or write! New phone puts me at your fingertips. Heh.
Phil November 15 at 8:35am
Getting work done while I wait. Not a bad thing.

November 15 at 8:35am
Had a great meeting. Fourteen people appeared, including two new people! So everyone was on their best behavior, telling jokes and energetic. I ran a tight meeting – done in 45 minutes! I was revved up, trying to show I feel fine.

And best of all, we got through the entire meeting without anyone mentioning my breast!

November 15 at 8:44am
Then it was off to Margarita’s. Table for twelve. Both new people went, so people ordered pitchers of margaritas and told the good stories about how our group got started, misadventures.
I got to taste yummy nachos with chorizo, barbecue chicken fajitas and my own plate of enchiladas – chicken, cheese and spiced steak. And someone paid for my dinner! Wow!
November 15 at 8:46am
Glad to hear you can get work done! Hope that makes the time go by. Speaking of which, I’d better dash to the office. Hoping for a quiet day. I’ll be working on the payroll.  Whee!
November 15 at 10:42am
Thinking of you… hoping you’re in the air or will be soon. I’m being super-efficient! Got to work early, did payroll, ran the weekly check-in meeting with the entire staff. Pretty quiet week for everyone. Starting work on the holiday open house. Can’t believe it’s almost time for that again!

Phil November 15 at 10:48am
I am sipping a bloody mary and still waiting. Will nap on the flight. Not a bad morning. Find a good dinner place yet for December? Looking forward to that. Won’t be long now. Glad you are having a good day.

November 15 at 11:19am
You sound quite mellow. Glad it’s not too bad. I love bloody mary mix! Do you get access to a special spot? Or are you camped at the bar?
Ooh, LOBSTER thoughts! Yum. I have been thinking about and trying places, even posted in my blog asking folks for recommendations to take “visiting friends.” It’s a little tricky, in terms of finding a place where no one I know will see me, and that has the right stuff to eat and drink, and isn’t too expensive. But it’s fun to figure it out!
Do you know your December schedule, i.e. when you will be here exactly? If you do, I can make a reservation. If not, no biggie. If there are things you want to do or see here, let me know.
November 15 at 1:19pm
Did you ever get off the ground? Hope so. I tried the NYTimes crossword… very tough today. But I learned new words! Grabbing lunch now.
November 15 at 3:12pm
Did you make it?
[Phil posted a photo of a restaurant to his FB wall]

November 15 at 8:26pm
Wow… the Pig-N-Whistle looks incredible! Tell me what you ate? Brisket? Ribs? Catfish? Oh, man, what a menu! You lucky duck!
November 15 at 11:32pm
Quiet lonely evening here. Watching the city lights go out. Missing you something fierce. The fun. food. fooling around. If we were talking, you’d hear a bunch of sexy, dirty words! Heh. Must be the phase of the moon. *sigh* Don’t let it worry you, kid – just know that you inspire lust and longing in a brown-haired girl! 😉 Good night, sweet man. Sleep well.

Busy day? Hope it was productive one. My brain was in high gear, so I got ahead on projects at the office. My task for tonight is to motivate Hubby to de-clutter -> pro cleaners are coming tomorrow! Any tips on getting spouses to toss stuff? Wish me luck!

Hey, kid, How’s it going?
Actually made some progress on de-cluttering! And got the husband to do some, too! He threw something out! Woot! Miracles do happen. 🙂 Might even be able to let visitors in here. Maybe by December.
Did you see that Prince William announced his engagement today? To Kate, a woman with long, brown hair. My sister says she looks like me as a teenager. So you’d probably think she’s cute. 😉

Just watched NCIS. Intense. Lots of Ziva. I hate two-parters…

Had the pulled pork and chicken combo with beans and slaw. Very nice. That’s always been a favorite. Wet day here today. Grip and Grin with the boss tonight. Gonna be a busy week!

Phil November 17 at 11:21am
This has been a fabulous conference. Great networking opportunity, lots of work getting done. Having a great time doing it too!
November 17 at 11:23am
Good morning! We’re having a “New England weather” day here (if you don’t like it, just wait 10 minutes) in that it was pouring when I came to work and completely clear now! And 62 degrees! That’s awesome for November. I like it when it goes in that direction. I hope it clears for you soon.
November 17 at 11:33am
Pulled pork! Yum. I’ve seen cooking shows about the restaurants in Memphis… so envious! So glad to hear the meetings are going well. You sound so “up!”
Phil November 17 at 11:34am
We are having a spectacular day! Weather is amazing. Great work being done.

November 17 at 4:39pm
I hope your meetings continue to go well. I didn’t feel like working today, but made a list of the big things I should be doing – and managed to make progress on all fronts! Off to Texas Road House for a STEAK!  Have a great evening!

Hope you’re having a good evening.
I have a clean place! WOOT! Having the pros clean is so fabulous! It made Hubby clean up his junk, and throw out some stuff. They sent four people for an hour. My friend got a coupon, so it only cost her $47! And it cost me nothing! Incredible. Can you tell I am pleased? 🙂

Phil November 17 at 9:44pm
I can tell. Sipping wine, watching TV. Going out tomorrow. Big ass beer and an attitude adjustment along with barbecue at BB Kings place. Yummy!
November 17 at 9:51pm
Wow… BB Kings has quite the menu. Several items there I’ve never seen – sweet potato puffs? And lots of stuff I know and would love. Heh. You are a lucky man to get to eat at these places!
Phil November 17 at 10:01pm
gotta love it!
Phil November 17 at 10:01pm
Gonna have lobsta and chowda in New England in a few weeks. Whoo Hoo!
November 17 at 10:04pm
And beer!
November 18 at 1:42pm
Hope you’re having another great day. Still conferencing? It’s a gorgeous day – 50’s, sunny, blustery. The November light makes everything so crisp and pretty! Most of the leaves are gone, so I can see the amazing architecture in a new way.

Strange and wonderful things today. The office staff was freaking out over two dead mice when I got in. Took all my managerial skill to calm them down, and form them into teams to remove small furry bodies, dissipate the smell and contact housekeeping to re-set the traps. Ah, the exciting duties of the office manager!
I actually left the office for lunch – third time since August! Border Cafe for gumbo and shrimp etouffee! Yum. Met up with three chick friends. Sassy chicks unite! You would’ve had fun at that table.
And I tasted pretzel M&Ms for the first time. Not impressed. Going back to Almond!
November 18 at 4:09pm
Hey, kid. Hope you had a productive day!
November 19 at 12:51am
Another quiet evening here… hope you had fun. Sleep well, sweet man.
November 19 at 8:39am
Good morning! Happy Friday! I hope your day is off to a grand start. It’s a beautiful morning, completely clear but COLD. Only 39 and not going much higher.  Have a great day!

Phil November 19 at 9:14am
My head hurts, mouth tastes like camel shit and I can’t find my pants. Great day, geez
November 19 at 9:17am
I’m so sorry… but this made me giggle. You are so cute before you’ve had coffee.
November 19 at 1:14pm
Tell me your are feeling better? And found your pants?! I won’t ask how you know what camel shit tastes like… are you still conferencing?
My assistants declared today a cleaning and furniture moving day! So the place has been torn up all morning. I switched desks with my assistant, moved all the desks and tables.. yikes! Just starting to get back to normal. Trying to pitch stuff rather than just put it back into my new desk… rah. I am now back in a corner, so you could be underneath it with no one seeing you… 😉

Lol. I am feeling a little better but still a little fuzzy. At the airport waiting on the flight. Maybe coffee will help
November 19 at 3:12pm
Do I dare ask what you did last night that made you all fuzzy today? Or is it just the end of a long week?  Office is finally calming down. Phew. Still can’t find anything…
November 19 at 4:55pm
I hope your flight went smoothly. I’m headed home.
You driving tonight? Would love to hear your voice… make you laugh…
November 19 at 11:29pm
Home again?
Quiet and cold here…gorgeous moon and stars. Caught up on “The Mentalist.” Sussed the killer right away… hate it when I do that. Had a great pizza – chicken, bacon, onion and white sauce. Weird but tasty.
Sleep well, sweet man.
