Holday Cookie Exchange – MONSTER BALLS

Dear Readers,
It’s time to share recipes for holiday treats!  Yum.  A gaggle of sexy bloggers are kicking off the holiday season in style with the 8th annual recipe exchange!  Jz from A Reluctant Bitch encouraged us to post a favorite holiday treat recipe today.  Bless her heart and many thanks for pulling this together! So you can see holiday treats all over this part of the blogosphere!  And drool over something other than my cleavage today!  The recipe I picked is below, and then further down are the links to the other blogs sharing their tasty treats!
I adore cookies!  Cookie Monster is my favorite Sesame Street muppet.  Om nom nom.  I am not much of a baker these days, but I used to help my mom make hundreds of cookies for church events – from lebkuchen (that had to be started a month ahead of time), to sugar cookies, currant bars, icebox cookies, shortbreads, thumbprints with raspberry jam, molasses cookies, spritz, ginger bread men, and something she called “snowballs.”  See my cookie post from 2012 about those!  Ever since I’ve been hooked on eating balls of all kinds!
In 2013, I shared Noreen’s easy recipe for Oreo Cookie Balls.  There was even a video to make prep extra easy!

The 2014 entry was an amazing recipe for toffee cookie balls from Snackworks!  With only four ingredients!  And three steps!  And NO BAKING!  I could do that!  More balls made of cookies! With chocolate and toffee!

For 2015, I shared something a little more exotic – doggy style cookies.  They still had balls on them!
The 2016 post was an easy no-bake recipe with caramel, chocolate and nuts that turn into TURTLE BALLS!

Last year, I shared an easy no-bake recipe with chocolate and stuff that turns into RED VELVET BALLS!

This year, my cookie exchange creation is a chocolatey nutty oaty delight:

NO-BAKE MONSTER COOKIE BALLS

Adapted from Maegan – The BakerMama
https://thebakermama.com/recipes/no-bake-monster-cookie-balls/
[there’s a video that shows how to make them]

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Serves 20

Ingredients:
  • 2-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ½ cup mini M&M candies

Also needed – A sheet of parchment paper and a pan, or platter

    Instructions:
    1) In a large bowl, stir together the oats, peanut butter, honey and vanilla until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and M&M candies.

Depending on the colors associated with the holiday, you can use particular M&Ms to highlight them.

    2) Roll dough into 2-tablespoon sized smooth balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or a plate.  (A melon baller can help)

    3) Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

    4)  Display elegantly on a plate or tray, serve and enjoy!

You can transfer them to an air-tight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Happy Holidays Dear Readers!  Extra hugs with groping!
