Mamma Mia!

Hiya Readers!  Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there!  What an amazing job you do with the children.  Thank you!

Sassy had an elegant brunch with the entire family today!  My sister signed us up for a $60/person meal, which is not exactly my price range.  But then her husband paid, so that was great!  We all celebrated with my incredible Mom!  And I got to eat lobster frittata!

I was in the shower this morning (I can wait while you imagine that and breathe heavy for a couple of moments) and had the radio blasting oldies on FM 103.3.  They were in a Mother’s Day mood, so I got to hear the fabulous ABBA singing “Mamma Mia!” from the Broadway show of the same name.

It suddenly occurred to me that is the story of my life these days – OLD FLAMES!  Just like in the show, there are three fellas who found me in the past couple of years – two I dated and one who is gay!  Thankfully, we don’t have to get into any paternity questions, but it is fun to relive the old memories!

So here for your listening pleasure is the peppy tune celebrating reuniting and all that happy stuff!

Mamma Mia!

Songwriters: STIG ANDERSON, BENNY GORAN BROR ANDERSSON,  BJOERN K. ULVAEUS,  BUDDY MCCLUSKEY, and MARY MCCLUSKEY
DONNA
I was cheated by you
And I think you know when.
So I made up my mind, it must come to an end
Look at me now, will I ever learn?
I don’t know how but I suddenly lose control
There’s a fire within my soul
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My My, just how much I’ve missed you?
Yes, I’ve been broken-hearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go
I was angry and sad when I knew we were through
I can’t count all the times I have cried over you
Look at me now
Will I ever learn
I don’t know how
But I suddenly lose control
There’s a fire within my soul.
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My, my, just how much I’ve missed you?
Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go
DONNA
What the hell are you all doing here?
Well I’d love to stop and chat, but I
have to go and clean out my
handbag or something
BILL
Age does not wither her.
HARRY
I was expecting a rather stout matron
SAM
No she’s still Donna.
DONNA / SAM / BILL / HARRY
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My, my, just how much I’ve missed you?
Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go

  1. They have some great songs don’t they. They were married to one another, obviously cheated on one another, and then wrote about it.

“The Winner Takes it All” is also about all that stuff…

Glad you had a good day.
