I was just reading about a the first Maine State Trooper to die in the line of duty in 22 years

31 year old guy… was an instructor – mostly in polygraph use for detectives… stopped to help a motorist whose car went into the ditch in the snow. Front tire came off a logging truck and slammed into him… bizarre

Hiya Brett! Hope your week is going well. Seems like spring is really here!

My work has been going well – one more week until the last big event I’ll have to run! Only 77 more days until retirement!

I’m watching another sled dog race – the Kobuk 400. More mountains, mushers and dogs above the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Whee!

I found out there is another dog sled race after the Iditarod!  There are 16 mushers, including my favorite – Nic Petit from Girdwood! 

Here’s a drone shot of the “mass start” at Kobuk 440 Sled dog race. Unlike the Iditarod where mushers take off every two minutes, they drop a hat at this race and everyone mushes off across the ice in front of the hotel in Kotzebue in far northwestern Alaska!
