Mushing by mountains and 2,000 marbles

The photos from the race are amazing today – Northern lights, cute doggies in booties, massive mountains, mushers and tireless volunteers helping making it all happen!

Ralph Johannessen drops down onto the frozen surface of Puntilla Lake in the Alaska Range. Mushers in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race came and went from the Rainy Pass checkpoint for much of Monday, March 7, 2016.

Happy Monday!  How was the birthday party?

Took Hubby to follow-up with the surgeon – his shoulder is looking good!  

We got breakfast from Au bon pain afterwards.  I adore their ham & cheese croissants!

The party was a lot of fun. Great company and food. Left early this morning and got home before noon so was great! Finishing my workout and enjoying a beer at our local brewery

Alaska had the second-warmest December through February of the last century, and many parts of the state, including Anchorage, are seeing their warmest winters ever. Mushers drive their dog teams down a ribbon of snow that was placed in a snowless downtown Anchorage.
